Bio

Mark Arnone is a national security professional with over 17 years of public service experience in the Legislative Branch and the Departments of Homeland Security, Defense, and Energy (DOE). Prior to joining Amazon Web Services (AWS), Mark served on the Joint Staff as senior advisor to two Vice Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General John E. Hyten (USAF, ret.) and most recently Admiral Christopher W. Grady. In Congress, Mark served as Professional Staff with the House Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development where he managed a $20 billion portfolio in annual appropriations for the National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA). In this role, he conducted oversight and analysis of nuclear weapons, nonproliferation, operations, and infrastructure programs across Sandia, Los Alamos, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories.


While at the DOE, Mark also served as Chief of Staff for the Office of Defense Programs and previously as Acting Director for Congressional Affairs, where he worked with Congress to increase NNSA funding and authorities. Mark was awarded the Secretary of Energy’s Achievement Award for his contributions in securing congressional approval for the renewal of the U.S./United Kingdom Mutual Defense Agreement. He is also a recipient of the Department of Defense Joint Staff Achievement Medal.


Mark is a graduate of The Catholic University of America, Johns Hopkins University, and served as a Senior Executive Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Mark remains an avid Eagles fan and currently resides in Arlington, VA with his wife.
